<h1>Community involvement in helping care for Diabetic Patients</h1> <p> In Central Texas a non-profit organization was set up to overcome barriers that patients have. Organization is called TIPHER, The Institute for Public Health Education Research, Inc. Physicians often neglect the social-economic conditions of patients. The organization tries to overcome these barriers. TIPHER set up a building and offered free courses in diabetic education, supported by community fundraisers. Built a community center with a variety of programs.</p> <h2> Diabetic education Center</h2> <p> Diabetic education classes and presription assistance programs are held. Health literacy classes, with medical English as a second language. People learn English but learn about health and can take care of themselves and their families.
